A student of the Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan Waya, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been shot dead. The deceased had joined his colleagues, who were protesting over hike in school fees, when security operatives made attempt to disperse them forcefully. Speaking with Daily Trust, one of the protesters, who preferred anonymity, said they came out to protest over the increase of school fees in the state-owned institution when they met security operatives outside the college.

A 45-year-old man simply identified as Mr Christopher, on Saturday night in Benin, beat his 39-year-old wife to death over N2,000. A 21-year-old undergraduate of the University of Lagos, Chidinma Ojukwu, has narrated how she stabbed the Chief Executive Officer of Super TV, Usifo Ataga, to death in the Lekki area of Lagos State. Unknown gunmen have kidnapped an Ibadan village head, the Baale of Araromi, Tafa Apanpa and his wife. The gunmen, who stormed the Bakatari area of Ibadan, abducted the couple on Tuesday night. Bakatari in Ido local government area is a border town between Oyo and Ogun, located on the Ibadan-Abeokuta road. Man arrested in Lagos for allegedly defiling 2-year-old daughter, maid The Police in Lagos have arrested Kingsley Achugbu, 35, for allegedly defiling his 2-year-old daughter and house maid. Government House policemen on Monday manhandled and arrested the Imo State correspondent of The Punch, Chidiebube Okeoma, for covering widows, who were protesting unpaid six months’ salary arrears.
