A teenage girl has been killed by stray bullets around Ojota, Lagos, where the police forcefully dispersed Yoruba nation protesters on Saturday. According to residents, the victims was killed by bullets fired by policemen who dispersed protesters. Witnesses said the deceased simply identified as Jumoke was getting set for the day’s activities at a store where she sold drinks when she was hit by stray bullets. Gunshots have been fired by policemen present at the Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos as the Yoruba nation rally begins. This was after the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, addressed journalists at the venue saying no rally is allowed in Lagos. However, some Yoruba nation agitators dared the security operatives by spreading banners and flyers to announce their arrival and presence. A few minutes later, shots were fired and hot water from an armoured tank was sprayed to disperse them. Some of the agitators were seen getting dragged into an armoured tank by policemen.

Gunmen have killed seven herders in Chol Village of Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State. The spokesman for the State Police Command, ASP Ubah Gabriel, who confirmed the attack, said the incident occurred on Thursday evening. Some of the aides of Yoruba activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo (aka Sunday Igboho) have regained their freedom from the gunmen who abducted them at his residence in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, in the early hours of Thursday. Sources say some of the abducted victims were released by the gunmen in Ekiti State. Those who were released, the source said, include a woman thought to be Igboho’s wife, his aides, children of his boys. They were reportedly given N20,000 to board vehicles to Ibadan. Zamfara Assembly Member Shot Dead In Katsina Hon. Mohammed Ahmed, a member of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, has been shot dead. According to Daily Trust, Ahmed was said to have been killed by bandits along Sheme- Funtua Road in Katsina State. The United States Consulate General has said it inaugurated two new centres in Enugu and Benin City, the Edo State capital. The effort, it noted, was aimed at engaging more Nigerian audience. There are 13 American centres in Southern Nigeria. Unknown gunmen on Sunday evening abducted the daughter of Alhaji Bayo Fulani at his residence located around Ga-Fulani, Ora-Igbomina area of Ifedayo in Osun state.
