The Police Command in Enugu State has warned trouble makers and enemies of public peace to steer clear of the state or face the full wrath of the law. Niger State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mallam Idris Mohammed has been abducted by gunmen and taken to an unknown destination. The Commissioner was abducted by heavily armed men suspected to be bandits from his residence at Baban Tunga, Tafa local government area of the state on Sunday night. Police in Ekiti State on Saturday confirmed a gun attack on travellers in the state on Friday night. Police spokesman, ASP Sunday Abutu, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Ado-Ekiti, that the gunmen shot the driver of the vehicle, a LEXUS 330 SUV, dead. They took the two other occupants of the vehicle away, he added. Gunmen on Thursday night attacked the Divisional Police Headquarters in the Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State. The attack claimed the lives of four persons which included a police Inspector and three of the attackers. While parts of the police Division were burnt, cars parked on the premises were not spared. A Magistrate’s Court in Yola on Thursday remanded Aminu Yar’Adua, 36, the son of late former President Musa Yar’Adua, in prison for allegedly killing four people in an auto crash in Yola. Mr Yar’Adua, a student of the American University of Nigeria, AUN Yola, was charged to court for allegedly causing death by dangerous driving on 23 June, 2021. No fewer than seven persons were said to have been killed in a bloody clash between Hausas and Yorubas working as commercial motorcyclists at Dangote Cement Factory junction in Ibese, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State. Gunmen have killed a Chief Superintendent of Police, (CSP) Fatmann Dooiyor. Dooiyor, who was the Divisional Police Officer for Omuma, Governor Hope Uzodimma’s community in Oru East Local Government area of Imo State, was among those who tried to repel the attack.
