Bandits have attacked a joint military camp in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The Sokoto State Commissioner for Carriers and Security Matters, Colonel Garba Moyi (rtd) confirmed the attack but was not sure of the number of casualties. However, multiple reports suggest that many may have died following the attack. Residents of the area and security sources told Channels Television that the gunmen attacked the base, codenamed “Burkusuma Camp”, in the early hours of Friday, killing an unknown number of military personnel. At least 30 persons have been killed and many houses razed in Madamai and Abun villages in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State. According to the former Coordinator, Kaura Youth Coalition, Comrade Derek Christopher, the attackers invaded the communities around 5pm and started shooting sporadically. He said, “Some of them were taken to the hospital for treatment.” Attempts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammed Jalige, for comment was to no avail, as his number was not reachable at the time of filing this report.

The police in Ogun have arrested a 45-year-old man, Olaoluwa Jimoh, for allegedly impregnating his daughter, in Ode-Remo area of the state. This is contained in a statement issued by the Police Spokesman in Ogun, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi. ”The command arrested Jimoh, on Sept.16, for allegedly impregnating his 19-year-old daughter. ”The randy father was arrested following a complaint lodged at the Ode Remo Divisional Headquarters by the victim. ”The victim alleged that her father raped her many times and threatened to kill her if she informs anybody,” he said. The Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi has been killed by suspected bandits. The deceased, popularly known as Dambardi, was killed in the early hours of Friday in his village, Lere. Police authorities in Kaduna State said they are aware of the matter, but are yet to get full details of the incident. Governors of the southern states will be meeting on today in Enugu, the Enugu State capital. The first and second meetings of the governors were held in Asaba, Delta State and Lagos, Lagos State respectively and the 17 governors will on Thursday, September 16, converge on Enugu for their third meeting this year. At the last meeting, it was resolved that the states should enact the anti-open grazing law with a deadline put at September 1, 2021. The meeting is expected to hold at the Government House, Enugu. At least eight persons were killed in an aerial bombardment on Buhari village in Yunusari Local Government of Yobe State, on Wednesday. Ali Lawan, a resident, told Daily Trust that the incident occurred on Wednesday morning. He said residents were departing to their farms and heading for the Geidam weekly market when the mishap occurred. Alhaji Hassan Attahiru, the Emir of Bugundu in Zamfara State, has been abducted. The first-class monarch was reportedly abducted along Abuja- Kaduna highway on Tuesday evening. Gunmen were said to have opened fire on the monarch’s convoy and his security aides responded with shots but the bandits overpowered them and whisked the king away. The authorities are yet to react to the incident which happened at a time when there is a massive crack down on bandits in Zamfara.

Unknown hoodlums have set ablaze a tricycle and a bus while enforcing the sit-at-home order by the group in commemoration of the invasion of the home of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, in Umuahia.
