Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has given update on the collapsed Ikoyi building. Addressing journalists on Wednesday at the scene of incident, Sanwo-Olu confirmed the death toll now stand at 22 while giving names of survivors that have been identified by government as follows; Otundiran Timileyin, Ahmed, Sunday Monday, Adeniran Mayowa, 27, Sholabade Nurudeen, 27 (Osun), and Waliu Lateef, 22. The governor said autopsy will be carried out to identify the dead bodies while he also said executive order will be signed to guide against future occurrence.

24 hours after the collapse of 21-storey building on Gerrard Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, a 2-storey building has collapsed Tuesday in Osapa London area of Lekki, Lagos. The building was under construction at the time of the incident. The cause of the collapse and the casualties are still unknown.

Owner of collapsed 21-storey building trapped inside rubble, witness claims A witness to the Ikoyi building collapse has said the owner of the skyscraper is trapped with the other victims. The number of those trapped in the collapsed building situated on Gerard Road, Ikoyi is yet to be confirmed.
