The Federal government of Nigeria has concluded arrangements to resume the importation of petroleum products from a neighbouring country, Niger Republic. The Ministry of Petroleum Resources announced on Thursday in a statement that the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Thursday for petroleum products transportation and storage. The Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) has taken over 12 “prime assets” belonging to the Chairman of Global Fleet Group, Jimoh Ibrahim, and had his accounts frozen over a N69.4 billion debt.
