Human rights lawyer, Mike Ozekhome, SAN, has disclosed why the Department of State Services, DSS, released Nollywood veteran, Chiwetalu Agu. Ozekhome said Agu was released after they searched his phones and found nothing incriminating. The 65-year-old actor was first arrested by the Nigerian Army last Thursday for wearing Biafra regalia in Onitsha, Anambra State. He was arrested in Upper Iweka Bridge by soldiers while carrying out a charity exercise. Agu was, however, released by the Nigerian Army on Friday, but was re-arrested by DSS operatives. Ace Nollywood Actor, CHIWETALU AGU, who has been in Army and DSS detention for nearly one week, for allegedly wearing the Biafran clothes and inciting members of the public, has been released by the DSS. Embattled actor, Chiwetalu Agu who was arrested by DSS hours after he was released by Soldiers last week has been released. The National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Ejezie , Emeka Rollas confirmed this development. The Actors Guild of Nigeria on Friday said that Nollywood Actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has been picked up by men of the Department of State Services. AGN President, Emeka Rollas, revealed this in a telephone chat with Punch on Friday. According to him, the actor was arrested by the secret police shortly after he was released by the Nigerian Army. Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has regained his freedom from Army custody a day after he was arrested for donning an outfit depicting the Biafran insignia. This was disclosed in a video posted by Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike, on his Instagram page on Thursday. According to the clip, Agu was freed through the intervention of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
