Two of the abducted students of Bethel Baptist High School have regained freedom after they escaped from the bandits’ den two weeks after their abduction.
A senior staff of the school, who doesn’t want to be mentioned, disclosed this to Daily Trust on Thursday.
It was gathered that the escaped students, who are brothers, are currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
On July 6, bandits in large numbers stormed the school located by the Kaduna-Kachia highway and abducted 121 students.
“Yes the two students escaped from their abductors,” the source simply said.
The Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Jalige Mohammed, confirmed the story.
He said the students were found in the bush by the police and taken to the hospital.
He one is 20 years old while the other is 16 years old.
“They escaped but were found in the bush and we took them to the hospital. A statement will be issued,” he said.
