Sapphire Initiative for Special Needs and Disability, in collaboration with Massevideo Education Hub, has announced a series of free consultation sessions, training programmes and a one-day Special Needs Education Conference targeted at promoting inclusive education across Nigeria.

The programmes offer enhanced understanding of special needs education, improved communication and learning pathways for learners with disabilities, and practical tools, strategies and training to promote inclusion in schools and homes.

Participants receive specialist consultations for schools and families, workshops and training on inclusive classroom practices, communication strategies, individualized learning plans, guidance on policy, infrastructure, resource-use and sustainable inclusion systems, as well as support in building inclusive pathways for learners with disabilities from classroom to community life skills.

The training sessions target private and public school leaders aiming to build or improve inclusive programmes, teachers and educators seeking skills in special needs education, communication strategies, assistive technology and inclusive pedagogy, parents and carers of children with special needs, as well as support staff, teaching assistants and leadership teams driving inclusive change.

Organisers highlight that although Nigeria’s national policy recognises inclusive quality education for learners with special needs and disabilities, many schools and families still lack access to specialised training and resources. They stress that early identification, effective communication and well-structured education pathways remain key to success for learners with disabilities.
