The lawmaker representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has continued to receive accolades from his constituents for his effective representation in the Green Chamber.
Our correspondent gathered that the lawmaker has initiated several impactful projects in the education sector, including the renovation of schools, the transformation of Ofali Agwu School into Abia’s first smart school, the installation of solar-powered streetlights in some communities within the federal constituency, road construction, training and empowerment initiatives with start-up grants, and many other interventions for his constituency.
In an interview with the press on Monday, Mrs Mary Kalu, a school teacher, expressed her gratitude for the lawmaker’s support. She stated that the agro-business training and accompanying grant provided by Hon. Osonwa had improved her financial situation.
According to her, the chickens distributed during the training programme had multiplied rapidly due to the skills she acquired, enabling her to grow her business successfully. She remarked that the lawmaker’s projects were directly benefitting the people of the federal constituency.
A youth, Mr Okorie Okoro from Umunagwu, Arochukwu, also commended Hon. Osonwa, noting that his community had been enjoying better representation and the dividends of democracy through the lawmaker’s initiatives.
“Today, you can see the solar streetlights in our community, courtesy of Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa. Everyone is benefitting from it. It serves the entire community, and we deeply appreciate Hon. Osonwa for this impactful project,” he stated.
Chief Stephen Idika, Secretary of the Ndi Ibe Ohafia Improvement Union, in a letter written on behalf of the development union, lauded the lawmaker for his “tremendous contributions” and community-driven projects.
“On behalf of the National Executive and the entire Members of Ndi Ibe Ohafia Development Union, we hereby formally appreciate all your efforts in the development of our community.
“We have observed that you have made a tremendous contribution to our Community Solar Light Energy project, which you single-handedly funded.
“We thank you for this gesture and wish you many more successful and fruitful years in your representation in the Upper House.
“It is our hope that God will continue to provide you with the resources to sustain your humanitarian services to our community and the state at large,” he stated.
Another community leader, Mr Iro Iro, commended the lawmaker for the ongoing renovation of Abia Primary School.
He described the renovation works as impressive and noted that the lawmaker was securing the future of the pupils by promoting access to quality education.
Mr Iro further highlighted that Hon. Osonwa had sponsored bills and moved motions aimed at improving the lives of the people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, showcasing his commitment to people-centred governance.
