As Nigeria marks its 64th Independence Day, Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, the lawmaker representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has called for unity and resilience among Nigerians.
In a statement personally signed by him on Tuesday, commemorating the anniversary, Rep. Osonwa emphasised the importance of reflecting on the nation’s journey towards freedom and honouring the sacrifices of those who fought for the nation’s independence.
“Today, as we celebrate our nation’s journey towards freedom and unity, we reflect on the resilience that defines us,” Osonwa stated, noting that despite the challenges the country faces, the Nigerian spirit remains unbroken.
The lawmaker highlighted the need for Nigerians to come together and embrace the bond of brotherhood that unites the nation, urging citizens to appreciate the progress made and work collectively towards building a brighter future.
“In the spirit of love and patriotism, we can overcome any obstacle by coming together, fostering hope, and recognizing the strength in our diversity,” he added, stressing that unity and shared commitment are crucial to overcoming national challenges.
Rep. Osonwa concluded his message by encouraging Nigerians to celebrate life, freedom, and the potential that lies within every Nigerian, expressing his hope for a Nigeria that all can be proud of.
