Stakeholders of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia State have described the performance of the member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Ibe Okwara as uncommon.
The stakeholders comprising of lawyers, traditional leaders, technocrats, youths and women leaders applauded the lawmaker for giving the constituency a good voice at the National Assembly.
A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Elder Etigwe Uwa said: “It is appropriate and our duty to assess our elected representatives at all levels. It would be remiss not to do so. The assessment must however be constructive rather than destructive.
“Hon. Ibe Okwara has been at the forefront of restoring power to Ohafia. That is so important. Without power businesses and families would not be as productive as they can be.
“Membership of parliament should not be judged by distribution of palliatives and money. The duty of legislators is law making and given the bills sponsored or co-sponsored by our representative he has not done badly at all.“
The Convener of famous Think Tank group, Abia Infrastructure Mandate (AIM), Engr. Dr. Odo Ijere while assessing the lawmaker said: “Honourable Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa I must say has been upwardly, passionate and zealous in his representation for his constituents. He appears very prepared for the job of people’s representation. He has so far carried on his job with panache, a good knowledge of what the people want and the effrontry required to thread on toes to get the job done. So far I will say kudos to his great efforts and I’m also wishing him well in his political journey.”
Foremost educationist and cleric from Ndi Ibe Ohafia, Rev Mrs. Nkechi Garrison said: “Assessing the performance of Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, I will say he has a bright and promising plan and purpose for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency. Firstly, I will congratulate him for his move and effort concerning the restoration of electricity in Ohafia and other villages around her. Ohafia has been in total darkness for the past five years we are believing God that through Hon. Ibe Ohafia will be totally liberated and businesses will begin to thrive again in Ohafia.”
A student leader from Okon Ohafia, Comrade Owen Idika described Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa as the best lawmaker in the history of the constituency.
“Okwara Ibe Osonwa is the best representative Aro/Ohafia has ever had. God bless that man for me.”
A political leader, Hon. Surv. Bulus commended the lawmaker for sponsoring quality bills. He described his performance as excellent, saying: “ Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa has done well in his first year in office. He has performed excellently with his core mandate of making laws, sponsoring bills and moving motions.”
A woman leader, Mrs Ogbonna Kalu Olua said the lawmaker has started well, while acknowledging “his good works in the House of Representatives”.
Chief Nnanna Okoro from Arochukwu community described the performance of Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa as excellent. He said the lawmaker has done well through “his bills, motions and petitions”.
