The lawmaker representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has expressed shock over the death of the former Governor of old Abia State and one time Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu.
Rep. Osonwa in a statement personally signed by him in Abuja on Thursday, said he received with shock the sad, devastating and shocking news of the passing of Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, a man he described as “intellectually mobile, humble and loved”.
Dr. Onu, 72, was confirmed dead at an undisclosed hospital at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Thursday, a development the lawmaker described as shocking, devastating and unexpected.
He said Nigerians have lost a statesman who believed so much in the unity, peace, progress and development of Nigeria.
Chief Osonwa on behalf of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency condoled with the government of Abia State, the government and people of Ebonyi State and all associates of the deceased over the huge loss.
