The Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 General Elections, Mr Peter Obi, has been accused of sponsoring series of blackmails on the media aimed at defaming the image of Ifeanyi Ubah, the senator representing Anambra South senatorial district who recently indicated interest in contesting the state’s governorship position in 2025.
Reacting to a recent viral media report which stated that Ifeanyi Ubah incited the people of Anambra to against the current Governor of the state Chukwuma Soludo, Publicity Secretary of Anambra Coalition of civil society groups Comrade Godswill Okorie accused Peter Obi of being behind the report.
Urging the electorates to consider the publications as fake news, Okorie accused Peter Obi, a former two term Governor of the state, of being unsettled over the ambition of Ifeanyi Ubah which he said would impede Obi’s sinister plans of installing the next Governor of the state.
Labeling Peter Obi as a serial liar and blackmailer, Okorie while speaking to newsmen in Onitsha North area of the state on Tuesday said the 2023 Labour Party Presidential candidate is in the habit of soiling the images of personalities of South-East extraction as means of achieving his selfish interests.
According to Okorie, Peter Obi sponsored the reports so as to attract enemies to Ifeanyi Ubah as the next Governorship elections fast approaches.
Okorie lamented how Peter Obi ruined the chances of Ndi-Igbo in the last general elections through blackmails , he vowed that civil society groups would expose Peter Obi’s antics and put an end to such blackmails aimed at destroying images of other candidates.
When asked to react to the news reports peddled against Ifeanyi Ubah, Okorie has this to say;
“Sen Ifeanyi didn’t say that. Peter OBI is a serial liar and a top notch blackmailer.
“He(Peter Obi) knows Ifeanyi Uba will be a stumbling block to his ambition of installing a governor in ANAMBRA so he has chosen to create his imaginary stories to attract enemies to Ifeanyi but we will not let him do that.
“This was how he blackmailed reputable Igbo sons and daughters during his presidential election and created a myth about himself that caused trouble for a lot of candidates and now flooded the National Assembly with incompetent legislators of the LABOUR party.
“This style will not work again. We will tell the world who the original Peter OBI is. The peter OBI Nigerians and the world know today is fake peter OBI. We know the original Peter OBI.
