Former governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim has joined the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC.
TheWhisperer reports that Ohakim was a front row member of the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before decamping to APGA.
Ohakim is expected to pick up the membership card of APC before the registration of new members closes today.
A source close to the former Imo State governor told TheWhisperer that Mr Ohakim will meet with the chairman of the caretaker committee of the APC and governor of Yobe State Mai Mala Buni within the week.
The news of his defection came barely 48 hours after former Governor of Ogun state, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; Social Democratic Party, SDP, governorship candidate in Osun State, Iyiola Omisore; former Chief of Army Staff, Azubuike Ihejirika perfected their defections to the APC.
