Member of the House of Representatives representing Arochukwu Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa on Friday stormed Arochukwu as Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, the former lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District, buried his late wife, Lady Nimi Ohuabunwa, amidst tears.
Lady Nimi, 61, died on July 22 after a protracted ailment at an Abuja hospital.
Hon. Osonwa joined prominent Nigerians including the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike among others to pay their last respect to late Mrs Nimi Ohuabunwa.
Hon. Osonwa, who is the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on FCT Judiciary had commiserated with Senator Mao Ohuabunwa over the death of his wife.
In a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists, he expressed shock and deep sadness over the demise of Lady Nimi.
Hon. Osonwa described the death as a huge loss to the family and the union, but however consoled the bereaved that it was the will of Almighty God.
According to the statement, the lawmaker prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased to have eternal rest.
“On behalf of Arochukwu Ohafia Federal Constituency, I send you my sincere sympathy and condolences to you and your family over the loss of your dear wife. I pray you get the strength to handle this irreparable loss,” he said.
