BREAKING: N500m Suit: Abuja Court Grants Umeh Kalu Leave To Serve Summons On Abia PDP, Amah Abraham

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted a former Attorney General of Abia State and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Umeh Kalu (SAN), leave to serve writ of summons on the Abia State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and its acting Publicity Secretary, Elder Amah Abraham.

The court gave the nod pursuant to an application by the legal representative of Chief Umeh Kalu in a pending suit which he is seeking to compel the PDP and Amah Abraham to issue a public apology in a full-page advertisement in both Sun Newspaper and ThisDay Newspaper.

THE WHISPERER reports that the writ is to be served at the state headquarters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), 45 Finbarrs Road, Umuahia.

While People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is the first defendant in the suit, Amah Abraham is the second defendant.

Chief Umeh Kalu is seeking the PDP and Amah Abraham to retract the defamatory statement contained in a press statement titled
“Umeh Kalu’s Very Unprofessional Conduct and Interference in the ongoing Abia Election Petition Tribunal”.

Additionally, Chief Kalu is requesting that the PDP and Amah Abraham publish an apology on Facebook social media page/website, retracting the defamatory statements. He is also seeking general damages of N500 million for the harm caused to his reputation, which he claims is false, malicious, and defamatory.
