An Apo High Court on Wednesday adjourned hearing in a suit filed against the Nigerian Police Force by Rita Orji— a former member representing Ajeromi Ifelodun Federal Constituency of the House of Representatives, seeking a restraining order to stop the force from investigating her over an alleged certificate forgery until June 28.

Our correspondent reports that the police was investigating a petition filed against Mrs Orji over an alleged forgery of her West African Examination Council (WAEC) result.

A source who preferred not to be named told our correspondent that: “Hon. Rita Orji is under investigation by the Nigerian Police Force for forging her WAEC certificate. She has been invited severally by the police who got a petition by one of her constituents— but she refused to honour any of them—rather she approached the court to refrain the police from investigating and prosecuting her.”

Meanwhile, hearing in the suit has been shifted to June 28, 2023 by Justice Bello Kawu of the Apo High Court.
