At a time when the agitation for a better Governance was high, we sought for one whose difference would be glary, and relationship with the people, would help translate into accessibility, which would resonate with the masses, and breed effective representation that surpasses the status quo.
Hon Francis Ifeanyi Uchendu, became the nearest alternative that satisfied the quest for a better one, being part of the Dr Alex Otti’s train. Abia State was agog with high political awareness which relatively grew overtime, and exhumed more about the impunity in the state, hitherto the exit of Dr Alex Otti from the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP in Abia.
Fast forward to the 2015 general elections, 11 state house of assembly candidates were beneficiaries of the quest for a better Abia, under the auspices of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
Amongst these, Hon Francis Ifeanyi Uchendu’s administration as the state house of assembly member representing the good people of Ohafia South state Constituency, is one that have led a total paradigm shift in the Constituency, when compared with others who have occupied same position prior to his assumption of office.
It was unknown to many constituents that a state house of assembly member can embark on viable projects as seen during this era of Hon Uchendu. This gave birth to a total awareness and youthful participation in the political setting of the Constituency.
Today, October 4th 2023, we celebrate a trail blazer whose strides have brought some reliefs and transformed into a heightened political awareness and total engagement towards a better constituency.
Your representation as the State house of assembly member and deputy speaker of the Abia State house of assembly, is one that have brought hopes to many and set a yardstick of measurement to assess the performance of other political leaders who had served before your assumption of office, and will serve after you, in same capacity.
