Constituents from Ohafor ward in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State have commended Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for reconstructing the Ebem-Asaga-Ndi Ibe Ohafia road.
The residents who expressed their satisfactions over some newly constructed roads, school renovations, distribution of improved seedlings and fertilizer, provisions of motorize bore holes, while speaking with newsmen during Senator Orji Kalu’s visit to the ward, noted that the gestures, have impacted positively on the lives of the people.
Madam Mary Kalu Ukonu, a farmer from Asaga Ohafia told newsmen that, they were eternally grateful to the senator for constructing the Asaga-Ndi Ibe road.
According to her, “Senator Orji Uzor Kalu constructed this road to Okon-Aku Ohafia when he was governor. It was very difficult to visit Okon during raining season from Asaga because of the bad road; from Asaga to Ndi Ibe was very terrible, but when he became governor, he came to our rescue, he constructed the road and— made things easy for our people — and we are eternally grateful to him for that singular act,” she said.
A trader, Mr Awa Ukpai, commended Senator Kalu for distributing free educational materials to pupils in the area.
He said: ” Senator Orji Uzor Kalu is our man. He is a popular leader in Ohafor ward and Ohafia in general. During his tenure as governor, he gave my children free education and today as a senator, he is distributing educational materials to pupils in our communities to enhance learning. We are happy with his performance as a senator because he has performed excellently well.”
Mr. Francis Uduma Ukpai from Ndi Ibe Ohafia applauded Senator Kalu for constructing the Ndi Ibe Ohafia road when he was governor and reconstructing it as a senator. He stressed that the road would attract more people to the area.
According to him, “Senator Orji Uzor Kalu changed our story for good as a community.
“We love Senator Kalu as a community because he has continued to show us immense love as a community. Ohafor ward is proud of him and his achievements. He constructed the road in Ndi Ibe including electricity. We were surprised by that gesture. Today, he even reconstructed that same road. We’re happy with him and shall do our best to ensure that he is re-elected in 2023,” he said.
