Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Etigwe Uwa has sued for peace, calling on members of the All People’s Congress (APC), to unite for the task ahead.
Speaking in a rally in Umuahia, Thursday, he stated that a house divided against itself will never stand, adding that as 2023 draws nearer, all hands must be on deck to build a formidable APC.
Uwa, an international lawyer with interest in Oil and gas, finance, insurance, renewable energy stressed the need for all party members to bury the hatchet and calm their frayed nerves to enable APC take the governorship seat come 2023.
Speaking to the members, he said, “I want to start by calling all of you Heroes. In spite of all the issues, you have all gathered here today because you stand in the place of truth. I must pay tribute to each and everyone of you.
Do not think of going to the other side because there’s nothing on the other side. That other side is sinking sand. You cannot place something on nothing and expect it to stand. It must fall. I’ve read the constitution of our party and I can assure us that where we are is where the Law is. I can tell you that at the end of the day, we are going to prevail. We shall take what rightfully belongs to us.”
He mentioned some important dignitaries who are members of the party and urged the party to remain calm and unmoved.
He concluded by declaring them warriors.
He said, “I started by declaring All of you Heroes and I’ll end by declaring all of you Warriors. As you all know, I am from a tribe of warriors and we are all warriors. We are going to fight to the end. We will not be afraid because we stand on the side of truth and at the end of the day, the truth will prevail. We know where we are going to and we are going to take back our State.”
Earlier, the former chairman of the party, Chief (Hon.) Donatus Nwankpa expressed his unfathomable joy by singing a few songs and encouraging the party members to hold on to the proverb which days that After the rain, comes the sun as he urged them to remain focused.
He concluded his speech by assuring them that no one can hijack the party and that come May 2023, Abia State would have an APC Governor.
