Earlier today at the federal high Court Abuja
before Hon Justice okon abang the suit instituted by the governorship candidate of RAP party in the 2019 elections in imo Barr. Kingdom Okere was Withdrawn at his instance via an application that was heard today.

Recalled that there is unresolved legal issue over who was the APC Governorship candidate for Imo State election last year between Uche Nwosu and Hope Uzodimma in line with Supreme Court judgment of 20th December, 2019.

It could be recalled that the Supreme Court in its unanimous ruling of the 20th of December 2019 held that Ugwumba Uche Nwosu was the nominated candidate of the Apc for the said election.

In his ruling the Abang stated that the main issue as canversed by the plaintiff bordering on the candidacy of the Apc in said election had been determined by the Supreme Court and so was no longer in doubt.

Already, there is a suite by Action Party of Nigeria (APN) at Surpreme Court seeking for interpretation and enforcement of this very judgment of December 20th, 2019 where Surpreme Court stated that Uche Nwosu was not Action Alliance (AA) candidate, but APC which end up nullifying Nwosu’s candidacy.

What to resolve here is: Can Uche Nwosu be the APC candidate as affirmed by the supreme Court and Hope Uzodimma also the same candidate of APC without any record of Substitution of Uche Nwosu by Hope Uzodimma in line with Electoral Act?

Today’s ruling clearly gives a legal insight to what may likely be the outcome of the suit instituted at the Supreme Court Court by the Action Party of Nigeria seeking for the interpretation and enforcement of the said apex court judgment.

Note, without further intervention by Supreme Court on this Imo Matter, it will be hard for any court to cite Judgement that produced Hope Uzodimma.
