Bende Council Area Tops APC E-Registration In Abia With Over 34,000 Members

Bende Local Government Area has recorded over 34,000 registrations in the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic membership registration exercise in Abia State, accounting for 26.7 per cent of the total memberships captured so far across the state.

Figures from the registration data show that Umuahia North follows with 12,855 registered members, representing 9.7 per cent of the total. Isiala Ngwa North has recorded 10,426 members, accounting for 7.9 per cent, while Osisioma stands at 9,122 members, or 6.9 per cent.

Arochukwu Local Government Area has so far recorded 7,541 members, representing 5.7 per cent of the total registrations. Umu-Nneochi follows with 6,285 members, accounting for 4.7 per cent, while Ohafia has recorded 6,183 members, also representing 4.7 per cent.

Isiala Ngwa South accounts for 5,907 registered members, representing 4.5 per cent, while Ikwuano has recorded 5,883 members, or 4.4 per cent. Aba North has so far captured 4,823 members, representing 3.6 per cent, while Ukwa West stands at 4,716 members, also accounting for 3.6 per cent.

Our correspondent reports that the former Abia State governor and senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, as well as the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, are from Bende Local Government Area.
