Ohafia Improvement Union Abuja Hails Prince Emeka Kalu On Emergence As RATTAWU National President

Ohafia Improvement Union (OIU), Abuja Branch, has extended warm congratulations to Comrade Prince Emeka Kalu, fondly known as “Magic Fingers”, on his emergence as the National President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union of Nigeria (RATTAWU).

In a statement signed by Chief Kalu Idika Okwara, the union described Kalu’s victory over strong contenders as a testament to the trust and confidence reposed in his leadership qualities, vision, and deep-rooted commitment to the welfare of media professionals across the country.

Chief Okwara expressed pride in the development, noting that Kalu’s elevation brings honour to Abia State and particularly to the Ohafia community.

He added that the achievement is a source of inspiration to young professionals, especially those in the media and creative industries.

“We are confident that Comrade Kalu’s administration will usher in a new era of professionalism, innovation, and unity within RATTAWU. His leadership is expected to advocate effectively for the rights and welfare of media workers nationwide,” the
statement read.

He further assured the newly elected President of RATTAWU of the support of the union, and wished him a successful tenure marked by impactful achievements and strengthened solidarity among union members.

Prince Emeka Kalu, a seasoned media professional and respected labour advocate, was declared winner at the just-concluded RATTAWU National Delegates Conference (NDC) 2025 held in Gombe State.

An indigene of Okon-Aku Ohafia in Ohafia Local Government Area of Abia State, Kalu defeated three formidable opponents from Rivers, Ekiti, and Ogun States with a commanding margin.

Having lived and worked in Anambra State for many years, he has earned accolades for his grassroots mobilisation skills and contributions to the media sector.

His election has been met with widespread celebration, particularly across the South-East, where many view his emergence as a victory for youth inclusion and transformative leadership in unionism.
