Two Years Anniversary: Sen Kalu Hails Tinubu’s reform Policies
As Nigeria commemorates the second anniversary of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu ( APC, Abia-North ) has expressed strong support for the president’s reform Policies describing them as a bold leadership, transformative reforms, and steadfast commitment to national renewal.
According to a statement on Thursday made available on his official social media platforms, the Chairman of the Senate committee on South-East Development Commission praised Tinubu for taking office at a pivotal moment in the country’s history and steering the nation with “courage, clarity, and decisive leadership.”
The former two time Abia Governor commended the president for implementing long-overdue reforms that, while controversial, have repositioned Nigeria for future prosperity.
He highlighted the removal of the fuel subsidy and the unification of the exchange rate as landmark decisions that required political courage but were necessary to “rescue Nigeria from fiscal hemorrhage” and restore investor confidence.
“In just two years, President Tinubu has proven that he possesses the boldness and vision needed to move Nigeria forward,”.
“These are not mere intentions; they are actions driven by purpose.”, He said.
The former Senate Chief Whip also noted the momentum in infrastructure development, particularly under the Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund, and recognized ongoing improvements in national security coordination and strategy.
Beyond structural reforms, the Senator emphasized Tinubu’s focus on social inclusion.
He applauded initiatives such as conditional cash transfers, small business support, and student loan programs, which he said demonstrate “compassionate governance” and a deliberate effort to cushion the impact of economic adjustments on ordinary Nigerians.
On the global stage, Kalu observed that Nigeria’s diplomatic influence is strengthening under Tinubu’s leadership. “The president’s strategic diplomacy has reaffirmed Nigeria’s role as a regional power and a responsible global partner,” he stated.
Drawing from his own experience in leadership, Kalu underscored the difficulty of governing a diverse and expectant nation.
He said Tinubu’s administration exemplifies leadership that prioritizes long-term national interest over short-term popularity.
“This government understands that peace is the prerequisite for progress,” he added. “I commend President Tinubu’s courage, his reforms, and his vision. I encourage all Nigerians to support the ongoing transformation, Kalu said.
Concluding, Kalu offered his congratulations to the president and expressed optimism for the future;
“Your boldness has opened the door to Nigeria’s renewal, and your leadership will continue to shape its future. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
