Ohafia Improvement Union (OIU), Abuja Branch, has extended its warm congratulations to Chief Charles Nkata on his election as the National Financial Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural organization representing the Igbo people.
In a statement released by the President of OIU Abuja Branch, Chief Kalu Idika Okwara, the union commended Chief Nkata for his dedication to Igbo cause and his exemplary leadership qualities that earned him the prestigious position.
“We are immensely proud of Chief Charles Nkata for his well-deserved election as the National Financial Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo. His integrity, financial expertise, and commitment to the welfare of Ndigbo are qualities that will undoubtedly strengthen the organization and further its objectives,” Chief Okwara stated.
The union also expressed confidence that Chief Nkata’s new role will contribute to the advancement of the Igbo agenda and foster unity and progress among Igbo communities both within Nigeria and in the diaspora.
Chief Charles Nkata, a respected figure from Ohafia in Abia State, has been a longstanding advocate for community development and a champion of accountability. His election is seen as a recognition of his dedication to service and his commitment to the values of transparency and inclusivity.
The OIU Abuja Branch reaffirmed its support for Chief Nkata and wished him success in his tenure as he works to enhance the financial stability and operational efficiency of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
“We encourage Chief Nkata to continue his good works and assure him of our unwavering support as he embarks on this important journey,” Chief Okwara concluded.
The event held on 10 January 2025 at the Old Government Lodge in Enugu, was attended by prominent Igbo leaders, including the governors of Abia, Anambra, Imo, and Enugu states, as well as various stakeholders and traditional rulers.
Mr Okey Nwadinobi was elected as Deputy President General, Engr Emeka Sibeudu as Secretary General, and Chief Charles Kalu Nkata as National Financial Secretary, among others.
