The member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has expressed his heartfelt congratulations to Senator John Azuta-Mbata on his emergence as the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, and to Chief Charles Kalu Nkata as the National Financial Secretary of the organisation.
In his message, Chief Osonwa praised the dedication of the newly elected leaders, noting their exceptional track record of service and commitment to the Igbo cause.
According to the lawmaker, their emergence signifies a new dawn for Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and he expressed optimism about the future of the organisation under their leadership.
The event held on 10 January 2025 at the Old Government Lodge in Enugu, was attended by prominent Igbo leaders, including the governors of Abia, Anambra, Imo, and Enugu states, as well as various stakeholders and traditional rulers.
Mr Okey Nwadinobi was elected as Deputy President General, Engr Emeka Sibeudu as Secretary General, and Chief Charles Kalu Nkata as National Financial Secretary, among others.
“I sincerely congratulate the newly elected President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Senator John Azuta-Mbata, and my dear brother, Chief Charles Kalu Nkata, who was elected as the Financial Secretary of the socio-political organisation. Chief Osonwa commended the peaceful and transparent conduct of the elections and urged the new leadership to prioritise unity, development, and the preservation of Igbo culture and heritage. He assured them of his support in ensuring the goals of Ohanaeze Ndigbo are achieved.
Chief Osonwa called on all Igbo sons and daughters, at home and in the diaspora, to rally behind the newly elected leaders, emphasising that their success is a collective responsibility. He expressed confidence in the capacity of Senator Azuta-Mbata, Chief Nkata, and others to steer Ohanaeze Ndigbo to greater heights.
