The highly anticipated commissioning of the Ofali Agwu Smart School in Amaekpu Ohafia, Ohafia Local Government Area, the first fully digitalised smart school in Abia State, is scheduled for Wednesday, 27th November, 2024.
This groundbreaking project, facilitated by Hon. Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, Member of the House of Representatives for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, marks a major milestone in the state’s drive towards technology-driven education.
The event, open to the public, will be held at Ofali Agwu Secondary School, Amaekpu Ohafia, starting at 1:00 PM.
The Special Guest of Honour for the occasion is His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, Governor of Abia State, while the Guest of Honour is Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, Deputy Governor of Abia State.

Powered by Blue Giraffe Development and supported by organisations such as EduLab 360, April and Dawn, WOWSchool, BUDDRoom, and BUDDZone, the Ofali Agwu Smart School project promises to transform education in the federal constituency.
Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa in a chat with newsmen said that the initiative stems from his passion and concern for the future of young people. The project aims to provide students with state-of-the-art learning spaces and cutting-edge technology, enabling them to achieve their ambitions in a rapidly advancing world.
The transformation of Ofali Agwu Secondary School will incorporate advanced technological features, including interactive learning systems, computerised boards, high-speed internet access, and solar-powered electricity. Designed and implemented by EQH WOBII LTD, these upgrades will revolutionise both teaching and learning experiences.
Sir Gbolahan Olayomi, Chief Executive Officer of EQH WOBII LTD, noted that teachers will undergo intensive training on the effective use of the smart boards. This training will be extended across Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas, ensuring the sustainability of the project.
Students will benefit from a more engaging and interactive curriculum, equipping them with essential skills for the future. Teachers will have access to modern teaching tools, improving their instructional methods. The project is expected to enhance student performance and raise educational standards in the community.
The Smart School Project, spearheaded by Hon. Ibe Okwara Osonwa, is intended to serve as a model for similar initiatives across Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas.
