The lawmaker representing Arochukwu/ Ohafia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has commended Governor Alex Otti of Abia State for signing the Greater Ohafia Development Agency (GODA) Bill into law.
Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti signed the Greater Ohafia Development Agency (GODA) into law on Monday, October 28, 2024 as passed by the Abia State House of Assembly.
Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, in a statement he personally signed on Thursday, commended the governor for assenting to the bill, saying that the establishment of the commission is the testament of the commitment of the governor to the inclusive and accelerated development of all parts of Abia State.
The statement reads, “On behalf of the people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, I extend our sincere gratitude to His Excellency, Dr Alex C. Otti, OFR, for his commitment to the inclusive and accelerated development of all parts of Abia State. The signing of the Greater Ohafia Development Agency (GODA) Bill into law, marks a pivotal step towards addressing the developmental needs of Abia North Senatorial District, setting the stage for sustainable growth and socio-economic transformation.
“I also commend the thoughtful appointments of Prof Awa Kalu, SAN, as Chairman, Engr Obinna Odum as Director General, and other members of the GODA Board. Their expertise, dedication, and leadership will undoubtedly be instrumental in realising the vision of the Agency.
