The President General of Ebem Ohafia Development Union, Chief Emeka Mba (popularly known as Bam Bam), and his team, along with the Headmistress of Ujuruezie Primary School, Ebem–Ohafia, in Ohafia Local Government Area, inspected the renovation of a block of four classrooms at Ujuruezie Primary School.
The renovation project was facilitated by the lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
During the inspection, Chief Mba and the school’s headmistress lauded the senator for his efforts and expressed satisfaction with the quality of the renovation work, especially the standard of the roofing sheets used.
Chief Mba emphasised that the project would significantly improve the learning environment and contribute to the overall educational development of the community.
The President General also pledged the unwavering support of Ebem Ohafia community to Senator Kalu and expressed hope that the senator would consider the community’s need for road construction in future development plans.
In his remarks, Chief Mba stated:
“Your Excellency, I visited this morning to assess the quality of work being done here. I am pleased to say that it will significantly enhance the standard of education in our community. We understand the vital role education plays in our development, and we are grateful for this initiative. I am particularly happy that the contract was awarded locally. In the past, we often saw unfamiliar contractors delivering subpar work. However, this time, we have one of our own — someone we know and trust to deliver quality. This is a commendable project, and we deeply appreciate our distinguished senator for making it a reality.”
Similarly, a youth leader from Ebem Ohafia community, Mr. Ogele Ikechukwu Egbuta applauded Senator Kalu for the project, stressing that the lawmaker was the first senator to remember the community with any project since 1999.
“Honourable Senator, we want to thank you for all that you have been doing. This is the first time any senator has remembered us, and we appreciate you for initiating this project. Thank you for also awarding it to someone from the grassroots. As you can all see, she is doing a great job.”
The leaders stated that the community looks forward to continued collaboration with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and appreciates his dedication to improving local infrastructure and educational facilities.
