Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti OFR, has assured traders of adequate security measures, a business-friendly atmosphere, and a conducive environment to invest and do business in Abia State.
Speaking through his Special Adviser on Trade, Commerce, and Industry, Chief Nwaka Inem, Governor Otti expressed his administration’s readiness to create physical infrastructural development and facilities that will serve as a one-stop business hub for investors and traders.
In a meeting with the leadership of Alaba International Market, Oyinbo, Ladipo, and United Market Leaders and Traders Association of Nigeria, Chief Inem highlighted the state government’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for businesses, including:
– Road construction and maintenance
– Security
– Elimination of double taxation
The traders expressed enthusiasm and readiness to invest in Aba but raised security concerns. Chief Inem reassured them that Governor Otti is taking security seriously and has put measures in place to ensure safety.
During the strategic meeting held with the market’s leaders at markets union offices at Alaba International, chaired by the President General Alaba International Markets Amalgamated Council of Sections, High Chief Dr. Amajuoyi Camilus Nnamdi, and co-chaired by Pastor Peter Ubaezike, chairman General Electrical Dealers Association, as well as Chief Charles Friday Obih, President General of United Market Leaders and Traders Association of Nigeria,
Others included Sir. Chima Okereke, a developer and investors representative, among other leaders of thoughts and stakeholders on September 11, 2024.
The meeting also featured plans for a Smart Warehouse and Shop project in Aba, inviting traders to participate. These engagements reflect a broader strategy to attract investments, create jobs, and revitalize Abia’s economic landscape.
Notable attendees included industry stakeholders and leaders, such as Amb. Dr. Osita Offor-De Ultimate Commander, National Assembly Ambassador and Promoter of Aba Commercial Smart City.
Dr. Osita Offor thanked Governor Otti for his efforts in Abia State’s industrialization drives and appreciated the traders for investing in the state. He unveiled plans for a Smart Warehouse and Shop project in Aba, inviting traders to participate in this groundbreaking initiative.
With these assurances, Chief Inem urged traders to take advantage of new investment opportunities in Abia, emphasizing that the state is open for business and ready for growth.
