Udi LGA Election: Udi/Agbudu, Amokwe and Obinagu Wards Endorses PDP

As they insist on showing gratitude for party’s magnanimity at the ballot

The people of Udi/Agbudu, Amokwe and Obinagu wards have declared their readiness to vote overwhelmingly for the candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming chairmanship and councillorship elections slated for 21st September, 2024.

They made the statement on Thursday, 12th September, 2024 during the party’s campaign visit to their respective wards.

The campaign turned interactive gathering, saw to the reminisce of the cordial relationship that had existed between the party and the various communities, with the latter being the major beneficiaries.

Prominent leaders and critical stakeholders of the party who took turns to express their heartfelt appreciations to the PDP led governments for the numerous human and infrastructural developments extended to them over the years include; the pioneer Chairman of the PDP in Enugu State, Chief Sir. C.O.C Egumgbe; the immediate past Chairman of Udi LGA, Hon. Nze Philip Okoh; the former Transition Committee Chairman of Udi LGA, Hon. Obiora Onyia; Ozo Barr. Emeka Odenigwe; Sir. Francis Ndubuisi Aneke; Hon. Emma Eneoli; Hon. Crownwell Chibuzo; and Hon. Joe Aneke.

Others include, the Senior Special Assistant on Human Capital Development to Senator Osita Ngwu, Engr. Eneiga FPI; the Deputy Director of Security, Udi LGA Campaign Council, Hon. Onyebuchi Aneke (Buchene Safety); Hon. Mrs. Maureen Ene; amongst others.

They lauded governor Peter Mbah for his shrewd leadership approach, stating that his developmental initiatives are geared towards providing crucial infrastructure that will transform the state and consequently improve the living condition of the people. They expressed confidence in the leadership capacity of the party’s candidates and assured of their unwavering commitment to ensure their resounding victory in all the polling units.

In his response, the chairmanship candidate, Engr. Hyginus Ogbonna Agu expressed profound gratitude to the Enugu State government for giving him the opportunity to fly the party’s flag. He also appreciated the people for coming out en masse to receive the party despite their busy schedules. He disclosed that governor Peter Mbah is on course to deliver landmark projects to the respective communities, adding that he would work alongside the governor to propel Udi LGA to an enviable height.

He stated that government is a continuum, hence he would make deliberate efforts to see to the completion of the remarkable projects of his predecessors. He further appealed to the people to vote for the party at the ballot to guarantee the actualization of his lofty agenda.

The Honourable member representing Udi South Constituency at the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Okechukwu Aneke (Erienyeibe) while thanking the people for their votes in the previous elections, urged them to exert more energy in ensuring the candidates victory in the forthcoming elections.

Earlier on, the traditional ruler of Udi Ancient Kingdom, HRM, Igwe Samuel O. Aneke (Okwuluoha IIII); his Agbudu and Amokwe counterparts, HRH, Igwe John Ene (Omeobachie III) and HRM, Igwe Chinenyeze II of Uwani Amokwe respectively, blessed the candidates.

Highlights of the events were the handover of the party’s flag to the councillorship candidates and gifts presentations.

Dignitaries present at the events include; the Honourable Speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Uche Ugwu; the Udi PDP Chairman, Barr. Bona Madu; the Director General of the Campaign Council, Hon Augustine Agu; the Secretary, Hon. Charles Anih (Akidi); the SSA to the governor on Mobilization, Hon. Mrs. Ifenna Onoh; amongst others.
