Omoyele Sowore, the convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, has unveiled a list of Nigerians in positions of authority “inciting the public to riot”.

Sowore, a former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, has been advocating for nationwide protests under the hashtag #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria to address Nigeria’s governance challenges.

On Sunday, he posted a list of names of those he alleges are inciting the public to riot on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

“Topping the list is President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, “For engaging in massive corruption, election rigging, and destroying the middle and lower class by terrible economic policy decisions since coming to power on May 29th, 2023”.

Also on the list are Senator Godswill Akpabio and House of Reps Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas “for leading the most useless Senate and HOR”.

Others listed are: “Yemi Cardoso- CBN Gov/ for destroying the value of the Naira.

“IG of Police, Kayode Egbetokun: for reducing the police to a corrupt and irredeemable national institution.

“Chairman of EFCC (Ola Olukoyede): For letting corruption flourish by ignoring real financial criminals while going after inconsequential low-level crooks.

“GMD of NNPC (Mele Kyari): for stealing over $3.8 billion through subsidy scam.

“The Chief of the Nigeria Army (Taoreed Lagbaja): For conniving with bandits and terrorists through outright sabotage of national security.

“The Chief of the Nigerian Navy (Emmanuel Ogalla) for conniving with crude oil thieves to deny Nigerians of crude sales and revenue.

“The Comptroller General of Customs (Bashir Adeniyi) for conniving with cross-border criminals to deny Nigeria billions of dollars in excise and duties.

“The judges who receive bribes to pervert the course of justice across our courtrooms.

“Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission @inecnigeria, for organizing the unconscionable elections that brought all these criminals into power.

“Yusuf Bichi—The Director General of Nigeria’s Secret Police, aka “DSS,” has consistently violated the fundamental rights of Nigerians with impulsive impunity.”

He implored members of the public to add theirs to the list.

“But we are not rioting, we just want a revolution! No Going Back! #RevolutionNow #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria #DaysOfRage,” he added.

Last Wednesday, Sowore unveiled a list of 15 critical demands from Nigerians as part of the upcoming ‘Days of Rage’ protest.

According to Sowore, the demands were compiled from inputs received from Nigerians participating in the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria campaign.

The demands were directed at President Bola Tinubu’s administration and considered non-negotiable by the protesters.

The protests are scheduled for August 2024.

He noted that the demands from Nigerians include a call for the President Tinubu administration to “Scrap the 1999 Constitution and replace it with a People-made.”

Other demands include: “Constitution for the Federal Republic of Nigeria through a Sovereign National Conference immediately followed by a National Referendum.

“Toss the Senate arm of the Nigerian Legislative System, keep the House of Representatives (HOR), and make lawmaking a part-time endeavour.

“Pay Nigerian Workers a minimum wage of nothing less than N250,000 monthly.

“Invest heavily in education and give Nigerian students grants, not loans. Aggressively pursue free and compulsory education for children across Nigeria.

“Release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu unconditionally and demilitarize the South East. ALL #ENDSARS and political detainees must also be released and could compensated.

“Renationalize publicly owned enterprises sold to government officials and cronies.

“Reinstate a corruption-free subsidy regime to reduce hunger, starvation and multidimensional poverty.”
