A period of 100 days is not enough to critically assess the performance of Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, a former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Abia State, Chief Umeh Kalu (SAN) has said.

Governor Otti marked 100 days in office this week since May 29 when he succeeded Okezie Ikpeazu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Although many Abians have applauded Otti’s achievements so far, some said there is still a long way to go for him.

In an interview with THE WHISPERER on Friday afternoon, Kalu, a chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) and Abia State Coordinator of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Organization, said the present administration led by Otti met the state in a difficult situation.

He said: “100 days may not be enough time to make any meaningful assessment given the enormity of the problems we have in Abia State for those who understand.

“I understand what is on ground. They have taken off; he has been able to appoint his commissioners and some principal officials of government. But you can still say that we have some kind of problems and challenges— and it is a very serious one facing him.”
