The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria has invited the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi its 25th General Assembly.
Obi is to speak at the Church Headquarters at the Hope Waddell Parish, Calabar on Saturday, 13th August, 2022.
In a letter signed by the Principal Clerk of General Assembly of Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Rev. Dr. Miracle Ajah, and made available to THE WHISPERER on Monday, Obi is invited as special guest of honour to the opening ceremony of the 25th General Assembly of the Church where they are to celebrate their 176 years in the country.
Ajah said as the General Assembly is the apex body of the church that meets biennially as a symbol of unity and decision-making, Obi is expected to use the forum to speak on The Royal Priesthood, Nigeria’s unity, the Church and other trending issues which are building up to next year’s general election.
“In addition to your esteemed presence, we will be glad to receive your goodwill message to the Church and your brief Manifesto for seeking the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Other dignitaries invited to equally speak include a former Managing Director of Diamond Bank and 2023 governoship candidate of the Labour Party in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti; Financial Consultant and the candidate of the Labour Party for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa.
Ajah said, “This year, PCN is celebrating 176 years of Christian witness in Nigeria, and the Church will be electing a new Moderator of General Assembly (Prelate), and the Deputy Clerk.”
