The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has approved direct primaries for the Abia governorship poll, THE WHISPERER has learnt.
Sources at the party’s headquarters told THE WHISPERER that the Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee approved the request after majority of the governoship aspirants insisted on direct primaries.
One of the frontline governoship aspirant and former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Ogah confirmed this story on his verified Facebook page.
He wrote, “We have always said it that the just shall live by faith and it has finally played out.
“God Almighty who is ever present on the Throne has issued a verdict which is in tandem with the supplications of Abia’s Emancipator, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah. Now, therefore, the national leadership of our great party, The All Progressives Congress has now complied.
“It is to the glory of God and the tenacity of Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah that the All Progressives Congress has approved direct primary elections format for Abia State APC gubernatorial primary which is to be held on the 26th of May, 2022.
“Consequently, all APC card carrying members are encouraged to to come out en masse at designated centres (ward) to vote their choice candidate, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah.
“Indeed, Dr. Ogah is not a Quitter but a dogged fighter. He is a man made of steel which is ensconced in his gentle nature.”
