There are certain individuals who are manipulating Nigeria’s political destiny just to perpetuate themselves in the corridors of power. They are the political vultures of this country. They are sharp shooters, they seldomly miss their targets. If you dare step on their toes, that is, if you should make any attempt to wrestle political power with them, you automatically become their next pray. This is the case of former President, Dr Good luck Jonathan.
When sometime ago, the news went viral that the former President , Dr Goodluck Jonathan, was about to cross- carpet from PDP to APC, I knew he was going to have a political collision with the political vultures. Many have fallen victims of the dreaded group, and it appears the former President is their next prey.
Certainly, in Nigeria politics is a dirty game. You must be super human to play it differently and still stand. So, must have to play it in a scrupulous manner with them to succeed. You must be an iconoclast, you must be ready to fish in the forbidden waters to stand differently. This underscores why it is extremely difficult to find politicians with clean slate, the ones with clean hands, good intentions with the determination to serve, succeed in taking over power in Nigeria. Infact, power in this side of the globe rotates amongst only a few individuals. They determine what happens in our political landscape. They hold our political destiny as a people in their hands.
They are the Political Vultures, the political thugs who foment trouble to intimidate their political opponents, and often, when their intimidation fails to produce the desired result they resort to outright killing. This is an aspect of political violence that is devastating our evolving democracy.
It is a menace that has become highly detrimental to sustainable democracy in our nation today. How could a few individuals hold an entire nation so tenaciously to their whims and caprices, thereby strangling and stagnating the progress of the country. Their strategy is to victimize, terrorize, intimidate, and paralyse their perceived political enemies. The former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan is today one of their enemies. They are afraid of his political clout, his weight and relevance in the nation’s political future, hence they want to eliminate him.
But that is the way of the cowards. They hide to commit deadly crimes, they use their ill-gotten wealth to recruit and train thugs to serve their selfish interest of maintaining and controlling political power. They create fear and foment trouble to hinder the electorates in voting their choice candidates during election.
The aut crash in which two aides of the former president lost their precious life is a strong message of intimidation, simply warning President Jonathan to stay clear of 2023 Presidential election. But they got it all wrong. The former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan is not in contention. There are political jugganuts around the corner, political “Irokos” who are coming to spring a surprise. They are watching from the corner just to appear and take the center stage of our political history.
Infact, I can see a man taking the nation by surprise. I see a man, he is strong, fearless, selfless, dynamic with a refreshing and egalitarian political ideology. I see a prudent, exposed, intelligent, and experienced leader coming to rescue and fix Nigeria. I see a brand new man come up for the ultimate leadership in 2023. I see an incorruptible mind, mentally integrity conscious, with a large heart for the less privileged in our society.
I see a man coming with a new political order that will redefine our current faulty political equation in the country. I see a man who is willing to trade his life just for the sake of our nation. I see a man whose priority is to get things working again. I see a man whose quest for power is not for self aggrandizement, but to bring into existence, the new nation of our dream.
Yes, I see a man who has the capacity to challenge, and dislodge the political Vultures in our nation. I make bold to say that there’s hope hope for our nation. Nigeria is not over yet, I see a bright future. Nigeria will work again and become the pride of Africa. Congrats fellow Nigerians.
