Embattled Plateau Assembly Speaker, Ayuba, Dumps APC For PDP.
The embattled Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Abok Ayuba on Saturday officially decamped from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC ) to the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Ayuba, in a statement signed by his media aide, Samuel Kaze, said Abok has officially tendered his letter of membership withdrawal to the APC On March 18th, while presenting a letter of intent, seeking to return to his earlier party the PDP at the party’s Local Government Secretariat in Angware, Jos East.
The lawmaker, who also confirmed the development in Jos on Saturday via a telephone conversation, said his action became necessary in order to save Plateau State from failed leadership of the APC that will lead to a state of total collapse if allowed.
THE WHISPERER reports that Abok, was reportedly impeached by eight lawmakers out of the 24-member Assembly in October 2021, a move which he has challenged in court.
