The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Jude Ogbeche Ngaji of the All Progressives Congress as the winner of the bye-election for Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency by-election.
The Returning Officer, Dr. Eno John Eno who declared the result in Ogoja on Sunday morning said Mr Ngaji won the election with 22, 778 votes.
He defeated his closest contender, Mr. Mike Ede Usibe of the People’s Democratic Party who got 20, 590 votes.
THE WHISPERER reports that the bye-election followed the declaration of the seat as vacant by the federal house of representatives.
This was due to the election of the former occupant, Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe into the Nigerian Senate.
