The Senior Pastor of United Kingly Assembly, Bishop Udeme Essien has predicted the divine elevation of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

Kalu, a former governor of Abia state is currently the Chief Whip of the Senate and 2023 presidential hopeful.

Essien, in a sermon on Sunday noted that Kalu was being prepared for a greater task by God, urging him not to relent in his service to God and humanity.

According to him, Kalu’s sacrifices for the Church and promotion of Nigeria’s unity won’t go unrewarded.

In a sermon titled: “Divine Elevation”, the cleric gave the biblical example of Joseph who was lifted up by God against all odds.

“All the evil and malice and envy and hate he had to endure from his brothers did not embitter him and turn him against them. Instead, it all served in the sovereign purposes and plans of God. God’s people were kept alive during this time of famine, and the Messiah would come as a result.

“Here we see the interplay between divine sovereignty and human responsibility: even the evil choices of men can be used for God’s purposes. As Paul puts it in Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

“You can see that the story of Joseph is similar to that of Orji Uzor Kalu. All I can say is that, God is lifting him up to a higher position.”

He appealed to Nigerians to remain prayerful ahead of 2023 general elections.

“Ahead of 2023, Nigerians should be determined, focused and prayerful because it is God that can choose a good leader.

“So, Nigerians should be prayerful, they should cry to God to give the country good leader like the Israelites who cried to God and He gave them Samuel, and Samuel was a successful leader during his time.

“We need a leader that can feel the pain of the masses. We need a leader that can be able to listen to the cries of the people not a leader who doesn’t care about the feelings of the people,” he said.
