Fanfare as Ude Oko-Chukwu, Wogu, Enachoken Abiriba, others storm Jackson Agbai’s mother’s 80th birthday in grand style
No doubt, Madam Ucha Nma-Nta Nwojo Uriem is surely the happiest woman on earth with the euphoria that greeted her recently celebrated 80th birthday party.
Amidst fun, fanfare and pegentry, it was a celebration galore and gathering of business partners, political associates, family and friends gathered at the Nchiyi Amaogudu country home of Jackson Agbai Abba as they celebrated the 80th birthday of their Octogenarian mother, Madam Ucha Nma-Nta Nwojo Uriem.
Indeed, it has become a commendable paradigm shift in Igbo tradition where death used to be celebrated to a norm where the living is celebrated to the glory of God upon the life of loved ones who witness the love showered upon them. In Nma-Nta Ucha’s case, it is celebration of grace.
Following the history of Madam Ucha Nma-Nta Nwojo Uriem (Nee Kalu), her ability to withstand the challenges of life through rugged stoicism and strong determination to excel, walked through thick and thin to be strong for her family who can look back to appraise the journey so far and have enough reasons to celebrate Grace upon their beloved mother.
Speaking to journalists during the birthday celebration, Chief Jackson Agbai Abbai, threw light on a lot of salient issues while thanking God for the life of their good mother who just clocked 80 years in good health.
He buttressed the need for the life of social justice for every human, especially Abia State through more committed investment in human capital development, security and economic sustainability.
The businessman assured Abia citizens that he has concluded every plan to extend his numerous goodwill that has been enjoyed by Abiriba people to other communities through free education for indigent persons, care for the widows, youth empowerment in no distant time. He also said he has set up an NGO in commemoration of their beloved mother to be called Ucha Nma-Nta Memorial Foundation laden with the mandate of extending love, care and hope to every nook and cranny of Abia State and beyond.
When probed further to clarity if he is nursing any political ambition against 2023, he answered with tacit diplomacy thus:
“We are all potential politicians, even you the journalists (laughter), but the fact is that our political terrain deserves people of accomplishments that will take up Abia State to put her on the right track of accelerated development.
” Therefore, in as much as I am presently engrossed with my effort at ameliorating the suffering of the masses in my little way, I will not decline if the people observe that my efforts in private life will impact positively in government, then it will be an honour to serve.
“Besides that, I am more focused on finding an immediate solution to fighting the naked poverty plaguing the people by affecting more lives through Ucha Nma-Nta Memorial foundation” he explained.
Addressing other issues affecting the world, especially phases 1, 2, 3, Omicron pandemic that drew the world back and affected many businesses, but encouraged the citizens to abide by standard rules and regulations aimed at curbing the pandemic so that the world can move on once again.
Besides that, he emphasized on the need to trust in God even as they expressed gratitude to God for blessing their mother with longevity.
The highlight of the event was a powerful prayer of blessing showered upon the family by the octogenarian mother, asking God to protect, guide and uphold the children. She also prayed for journey mercies upon the guests.
The event was attended by the Enachoken of Abiriba, Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu; Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko Chukwu; former Labour and Productivity Minister, Chief Emeka Nwogu; Ohafia Local Government Chairman, Dr. Okoroafor Ukiwe and others.
