2023: Group Adopts Abia Deputy Governor, Oko Chukwu, Sam Anya, Ifeagwu As Consensus Candidates, Says Trio PDP’s Best Bet
A group known as United Ohafia Initiative (UOI), on Sunday adopted the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Rt. Hon. Ude Oko-Chukwu, Businessman, Chief Dr. Sam Anya and Hon. Ukpai Kalu Ifeagwu as consensus candidates for 2023 general elections.
Leaders of the group from the eleven wards that make up Ohafia local government area, unanimously passed votes of confidence on the trio and adopted them at a meeting in Ebem Ohafia.
They adopted Mr Oko-Chukwu for Governor, Mr Anya for Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency and Ifeagwu for Ohafia South State Constituency.
According to the group, Ude Oko-Chukwu, the current Deputy Governor of Abia State, is the right man to succeed Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in 2023.
The group appealed to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to pick the Nkporo born politician as the party’s consensus candidate in 2023 to give the party a smooth victory in the governorship election.
The group in a statement signed by its acting Director of Media Publicity, Comrade Williams Kalu also identified Chief Dr. Sam Anya as the best bet for Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency in 2023.
“Anya, a grassroot mobilizer, businessman and philanthropist is currently an aide to Rivers State Governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike. He is the Southeast Coordinator of Grassroot Development Initiative, GDI, a socio-political organization that believes in good governance, justice and equity in Nigeria.”
According to the group, Anya’s wealth of experience, expertise and exposure would give the Constituency a good voice in the Green Chamber.
“We are appealing to the PDP not to make any mistake in 2023 by fielding a misfit as its flagbearer. Anya is a grassroot mobilizer that’s loved by all. We are appealing to the party to adopt him as their consensus candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency.
“The trio of Rt. Hon. Ude Oko-Chukwu, Chief Dr. Sam Anya and Hon. Ukpai Kalu Ifeagwu is a sure bet for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” the group stated.
