Request To Pay Urgent Attention To The Dilapidated Benin-Sapele Road
We are One Love Foundation, a foremost human rights advocacy group with membership across Nigeria, Canada, United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Italy and other countries of the world.
We highly appreciates Your Excellency, Mr. President, for granting our request for the immediate probing of the activities of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), as well as the sacking of non performing ministers in your cabinet.
May we use this opportunity to also thank you for the consistent progress of work in some federal roads across the country, including the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of Lagos-Calabar coastal railway.
As we thank you, Mr. President, we are constrained to ask for your kind intervention in the observations we have made to the failed Benin-Sapele federal road which has failed completely subjecting Nigerians and commuters to their early grave.
Your Excellency, in our press statements drawing the attention of the honorable Minister of Works, Mr Babatunde Fashola to the deplorable state of the road proved abortive, we resorted to writing to you requesting for your urgent intervention.
We request that you urgently intervene by approving and releasing funds to the road which has taken the lives of numerous commuters.
That Mr. President do approve the earlier resolution of the Southern governors forum banning herdsmen with cattle and movement of cattle by foot in the country to eliminate increasing cases of killing, maiming, raping of our women, kidnapping of Nigerians and destruction of farmlands mostly carried out by foreign herdsmen and in most cases with the backing of some compromised local herders.
As a group defending the interest of Nigerians, we may be forced to stage a civil protest if our demands are not met. Nigerians are expecting much from us and we cannot afford to compromise the confident reposed on us as an NGO. We are ready to speak and die on behalf of the people.
