Governor Udom Emmanuel has finally put paid to rumours regarding his successor.
The governor, THE WHISPERER learnt, has anointed his Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, Rev. Umo Eno to succeed him in 2023.
A top source who spoke in confidence informed THE INK that the governor who has always maintained that God will reveal his successor to him, has finally chosen Umo Eno, a top hotelier, to replace him as governor.
Investigation by THE INK revealed that Mr. Udom Emmanuel has already beefed up security around the Water and Lands Commissioner, with some of the security personnel assigned him being drawn from the Government House.
The governor is also believed to have donated a brand new bullet-proof Land Cruiser vehicle to him as part of measures to ensure watertight security for his anointed successor.
The move to have Umo Eno succeed Mr. Emmanuel is already gaining traction as a pastor friend to the governor who hails from Delta State has, in conjunction with Fathers of Faith, reportedly advised him (Udom) to inject funds into the Umo Eno project on the assurance that the Nsit Ubium born pastor turned politician is divinely positioned to take over from him.
To further drive home the message of Rev. Umo Eno, a Thanksgiving Service, it was gathered, has been fixed for Sunday September 26 as part of moves to kickstart the “Umo Eno governorship project”.
The planned Thanksgiving Service which is to be held two days after the state’s creation anniversary, THE INK LEARNT, will be linked to activities marking Akwa Ibom at 34, but a highly placed source informed our reporter that the main essence of the service is to commence the marketing of Rev. Umo Eno as Udom’s anointed successor.
