The Presbyterian Church of Nigeria has conferred the “Distinguished Leadership Award” on legal luminary, Elder Etigwe Uwa SAN in recognition of his commitment to hard-work, excellence, outstanding leadership qualities and tremendous contributions to work of the Kingdom.
Uwa, a ruling Elder of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria among other positions served as Board Chairman of Lekki Parish for good six years with perceptible projects accomplished by the Parish through his visionary and sterling leadership expertise.
The award was presented to him on Saturday, during the 175th anniversary of the church tagged ‘From Glory to Glory’ by the Moderator of the Synod of the North, Rt Rev. Dr. Isaac Afolayin at First Abuja Parish.
The Synod Moderator while addressing members of the church admonished them to preserve the heritage of the Church by remaining strong in Christ Jesus.
He stated that the Synod was embarking on aggressive church planting, evangelism, discipleship and growth.
He said, “The celebration of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria 175 years anniversary is a time for us to reflect and renew our covenant with God, our passion, perception, entrepreneurial Spirit, our Vision and Mission.
“We should not shy away from taking active part towards the commitment of Church planting, evangelism, discipleship and church growth.”
In his response, Uwa appreciated the Church for the recognition and assured that he will not relent in making useful contributions in ensuring the development of the Body of Christ as well as the expansion of the gospel at all times.
The anniversary service was attended by the Prelate and Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church, His Eminence, Nzie Nsi Eke, Principal Clerk, Most Rev. Dr. Miracle Ajah, BoT Chairman of the Church, Elder Ibiang Eteng, Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Ita Enang, Managing Director of Nigerian Film Corporation, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe, Ezieogo of Asaga Ohafia, HRM Elder Emmanuel Kalu Kalu Onugu, Chief Kalu Okpo Kalu (KOK), National Assembly members, Captains of industry amongst others.
