“We are pleading with Governor Ben Ayade, Senator Stephen Odey, Hon. Legor Idagbo and other well meaning Nigerians to help us rescue our precious daughter and sister.
When Queen Ogar last spoke to her mother, the brief phone call left her mum relieved that the kidnapped victim was alive but distraught because she could not pay the N5m ransom demanded.
Abducted by gunmen on April 26 along the busy Abuja – Lokoja road. The captors, who called from Queen’s phone, threatened to kill her if the N5m ransom was not paid.
The ransom was reduced to N30m from their initial demand of N50m after her parents pleaded with the kidnappers,” Theresa Ogbule told THE WHISPERER.
In a telephone interview with THE WHISPERER, the victim’s sister, Catherine Ogar told our reporter that the ransom was later reduced to N5m. She however, told THE WHISPERER that the family was unable to raise the amount.
“We are pleading with Governor Ben Ayade, Senator Stephen Odey, Hon. Legor Idagbo and other well meaning Nigerians to help us rescue our precious daughter and sister.
“We don’t have the said amount and they threatened to kill her if we don’t bring the money.” She said.
The inability of her family to secure her release has forced her classmates to do a fundraising for her release, according to Rejoice Simon.
She said; “We are saddened by her continued detention. We are raising money to secure her release no matter how little it is.”
Queen, 23, a graduate of Medical Biochemistry from Cross River University of Technology, Okuku Campus, was kidnapped alongside 9 others.
She is an indigene of Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State.
