Southeast Nigeria has seen a surge in attacks by unknown gunmen targeting police and other security forces in the past few months in a region where separatist tensions are on the rise.
Suspected gunmen in the early hours of Tuesday, May 11, 2021, attacked the Ohafia office of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, located at Amaekpu, in Ohafia local government area of Abia state, setting the building ablaze.
The attack is coming barely 24 hours after The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Amaekpu, Ohafia was set ablaze.
