One Love Foundation Commends Governor Umahi For Transforming Ebonyi from Rural to Investors Destination Through Infrastructural Development
Human rights group, One Love Foundation has stated that Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state has succeeded within just six years to transform and reverse the fortunes of the state and people to investors’ delight and destination, from the shackles of a guinea worm-infested, poverty-ridden backward state.
The Global President of the foundation, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor stated this in a chat with THE WHISPERER after having on the spot assessment of the level of infrastructural development in the ‘salt of the nation’.
According to Eholor, the development of Ebonyi state should serve as a wake up call to other states for the overall development of Nigeria.
“A new order is seriously emerging in this agrarian and sleepy southeastern state. The developmental strides and ambitious statements that this talismanic governor have showcased in this low means state is very mindblowing and unprecedented.
“I recall growing up as a child the landscape of this area called Ebonyi state today was well described as epitome of backwardness. But what we are seeing today in terms of infrastructural development is better seen than imagined.
“Nine flyovers, new government house, new stadium, new airport under construction, numerous modern concrete tarred roads, street lights, clean and green environments. All these achievements are happening under six years since he assumed duties as the Governor of Ebonyi State.
“It will interest us to know that Ebonyi State is among the least in federal allocation with a moderate internal generated revenue base. So what we are experiencing in Ebonyi State is a methodical and prudent approach of financial management and holistic and sincere engagement to curb corruption level.
“These developments will open up the state to local and foreign investors. A state blessed with commercial quantities of solid minerals deposit the sky is the limit. Good things are worthy to emulate. Ebonyi people have not seen anything half close to this from previous administration.
“Kudos should go to this visionary leader Engr. Dave Umahi. The Ebonyi experience should serve as a wake up call to federal and other states leadership. Ebonyi State model is not a rocket science approach but a realistic, sincere, holistic and prudent approach geared towards giving it’s people the much deserved dividends of democracy and leapfrog to qualify life which is the very essence of the existence of mankind.” He said.
