Ndi Ibe Ohafia Development Union (NDU), Abuja branch has elected a new executive that will pilot the affairs of the union for the next three years.
At the election held on Sunday, 12th of April, 2021; Mr. Joe Kalu Ibe emerged as the new President of the union.
Other members of the union elected were: the Vice President, Elder Bright Idika;
Secretary General, Mr. Chidi Okorie;
Assistant Secretary, Comrade Sunny Idika; Financial Secretary, Mr. Friday Isaac;
Treasurer, Barr. (Mrs) Nwanneka Okoro;
Director Of Welfare, Mr. Friday Ukaha;
Provost 1, Mrs. Grace Kalu;
Provost 2, Mrs Violet Solomon;
Public Relation Officer, Mrs. Sochi Jickson Offia.
Speaking after the election, the outgoing President, Mr. Peter Kalu called on the newly elected members to imbibe a collective and purposeful leadership style as a way to succeed and sustain the excellent tradition of love, unity and progressiveness which is the hallmark of the union.
He admonished them to ensure that they carry all the members along in their decision making.
In his acceptance speech, the President elect, Mr. Joe Kalu Ibe appreciated the members of the Community for their full support and for believing in him, assuring not to fail them.
In his words, Mr. Ibe promised to make NDU Abuja branch the most vibrant chapter of the union by promoting love, unity and harmony for the overall benefit of Ndi Ibe Ohafia.
The event had in attendance, prominent sons and daughters of the community based in Abuja, Nasarawa and Niger states.
