Aba Infrastructural Development: This Is Just The Beginning, More To Come Before 2023 — Governor Ikpeazu
Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu says that the ongoing reconstruction of major roads in Aba is just a tip of the iceberg compared to what lies ahead, saying what is on ground currently represents only one-third of what will happen between now and May 2023. The Governor stated this on Sunday at two different churches in Aba where he took part in their Sunday Service, a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Onyebuchi Ememanka says.
According to the statement, at St. John’s Anglican Church, Osusu Aba, the Governor noted with delight that the church had become easily accessible as a result of the massive reconstruction work done by his administration on Osusu Road, promising that the adjoining Omuma Road will soon experience the same touch.
He assured the people of Aba that his administration will deliver a 6 lane Port Harcourt Road, Ngwa Road, Obohia, Ohanku, Uratta, etc.
The Governor attributed whatever successes his administration had recorded to the grace of God and urged the people of Aba to avoid any actions that will reverse the hand of the clock in our quest for development. “We have been here, working together, clearing our gutters and fixing our roads. Now because of these Federal House elections, they have all returned from Abuja and Lagos. Some of them are even laying claims to the roads we built here. I am not worried because the people of Aba know who is building the roads”.
The statement added, “The Governor urged the people of Aba North and Aba South Local Government Areas to support the candidacy of Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike and give him a federal house member who will work closely with him in the task of rebuilding Aba. “At the Assemblies of God Church, 39 Osusu Road, Aba, the Governor had the same message for the people of Aba. He urged them to reject people who will drag us back into the dark days of idol worship, warning that the wrath of God will naturally descend on any people who institutionalize idol worship and allegiance to shrines and fetish practices. “The Vicar of St. John’s Anglican Church Osusu Aba and the Senior Pastor in charge of the Assemblies of God Church, Osusu, Rev Ben Kalu, in their separate speeches recalled how terrible Osusu Road was before the intervention of Governor Ikpeazu and assured him that when the time comes, they will show their gratitude to his administration.
“The Governor then directed the State Ministry of Works to immediately liaise with the leadership of the Assemblies of God Church Osusu for the installation of bumps of the road to help motorists reduce their speed, especially around the church for the safety of the member of the church. “Prayers were said for the Governor and the candidate of the PDP in the forthcoming elections, Hon. Ebisike. “At each of the services, the congregation received the Governor and his entourage with tumultuous shouts of approval and support.”
